Vocational training (FP) on a CV: intermediate, higher, internships

How to write a Spanish ciclo (grado medio/superior), FCT work placement, and dual FP without hiding or inflating it. ClarCV.

Vocational training on a CV is not a “plan B” to hide. A higher ciclo in DAM, administration, or electromechanics is what many Spanish ads ask for. The expensive mistake is writing “IT studies” without the official name, or hiding the FCT placement as if it were not experience. People searching this already have the diploma or are finishing it. Rewrite the block; do not invent a university degree.

Use the full programme name (and the professional family if it clarifies), school, years, and whether it was dual. FCT (workplace training) belongs under experience if you did real tasks: company, months, 2 bullets. Do not mix it with a Udemy course. Sisters: first job, no experience.

How to name the diploma

Before: “vocational IT”. After: “Higher Technician in Multi-platform App Development (DAM), IES …, 2023–2025. Dual FP at …”. ATS and SME recruiters search DAM, DAW, ASIR, and the long name at least once. If the ciclo is an older LOE/LOGSE title, the official name is still the keyword, not “technical baccalaureate”.

Intermediate (grado medio): do not inflate it to higher. The level is checked.
Higher ciclo plus a partial university degree: list both; do not delete FP if that is what gets you hired.
Relevant modules (2–4) only if the ad names them; do not list all fifteen.
Average grade: only if it is high; see the grade guide.

FCT and dual FP as experience

Three months in a company with tickets or a counter is experience. Write the company name, not only “school placement”. If dual FP was a contract, say so. If FCT has not happened yet, do not invent the company. Skills (welding, invoicing, React) go in skills and bullets, not in an icon box.

FAQ

Does FP look weak next to a bachelor?

For roles that ask for a ciclo, a weaker bachelor does not win. For university-only ads, FP still helps if you have experience or a real stack.

List ESO or bachillerato if I have a higher ciclo?

Usually no. The highest title is enough, unless a public exam asks for the chain.
